Jan. 6, 2011 The Day My Life Changed Forever

On May 29th, 2010, my husband and I just got home from celebrating my best friends birthday which was the next day (PS she had just told me the week before she was pregnant.) and i didn't feel so well. My husband told me to get a pregnancy test the next day when i went to work...lets just say we had a debate about this cause i would have sworn i wasn't pregnant. Well... I went to work, got the test, to prove him wrong, came home and took it well he was working overnights so i woke him and was like we gotta talk. He was like I know you're pregnant. How did my husband and dog know and i didn't?? one of those things I'll never know.
Well we waited to tell anyone because i had a miscarriage less than a year before and wanted to make sure that it was really happening. So June 14th we had our appointment with the doctor and he did our first sonogram...and there it was there was my baby!!!! We got to hear the heart beat which brought a tear to my eyes. So when we left we called everyone with the news. We later found out that precious baby was a little boy talk about one happy daddy. Here are a few sonogram pics....

Ok now for the day that changed my life forever. So at 38 weeks i went to my doctor for my regular check up, i had been having problems with my blood pressure since about 32 weeks. Well i went in and they checked my blood pressure and told me i was going to be having this baby today that it was too high. Needless to say i was like do i have time to go home and get stuff ready and he told me no. He checked me and i was 2 cm and sent me across the street to the hospital to be induced. After i got settled in an hour had passed and the doc came to check me again i was 3 cm not yet on the meds either. well at 1pm they started the meds and the contractions began i had in my mind that i wanted an epidural from the get go but when i got there i was like i think i can do this i wanna hold off as long as possible i'll get one if my back starts to cause me problems(i have 3 disc in my back messed up). well 530pm rolled around and i decided i wanted that epidural. at the same time the anathesiologist had an emergency so he didnt get to me for about 20 mins. When he finally got there he put the epidural in which seemed like it took forever but only took like 10 mins total. they layed me down for it to get the full effect and as soon as i layed down i was like its time to push now. No time for the epidural to kick in no time for anyone to get there. I wanted my best friends Miranda and Jennifer in there, but it was just me, my husband, and my nurse Amanda(she was awesome). Well with 16 mins of pushing i had my gorgeous baby boy out. I know 5 hours and 16 mins for a first baby is crazy it seemed like sooo much longer. January 6, 2011 at 6:16pm Michael Anthony was born 7lbs 5oz and 20 1/2 in long. Here are some pictures.
